Joe Edwards

Joe Edwards is the ABPI’s Executive Director for UK Competitiveness and Devolved Nations.

His team leads the ABPI’s work on industrial and investment policy, and overseas the delivery of the ABPI’s strategy in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Joe initially joined the ABPI in February 2020 as a Government Affairs Manager, before taking on the Competitiveness brief in July 2023, and joining the ABPI’s leadership team full-time in April 2026.

Prior to joining the ABPI, Joe spent several years as a senior public affairs manager at the Royal Society – the UK’s national academy for science. Before that he worked in a number of political roles in the UK Parliament.
