Dr Amit Aggarwal

Dr Amit Aggarwal is Executive Director for Medical Affairs and Strategic Partnerships at the ABPI.

Amit leads the ABPI’s work across medical affairs, strategic partnerships and a broad portfolio of policy areas including disclosure, education and vaccines, working closely with government, the NHS, regulators, patient organisations and the pharmaceutical industry to support the responsible adoption of innovative medicines and vaccines and improve patient outcomes.

Before joining the ABPI, Amit held senior medical affairs and leadership roles at Bayer and Leo Pharma, where he supported the development, launch and lifecycle management of innovative medicines across a broad range of therapy areas, including oncology, cardiovascular medicine, women's health, dermatology and thrombosis.

Prior to joining the pharmaceutical industry, Amit trained and worked as a surgeon within the NHS. He holds an MA in Neuroscience from the University of Cambridge, an MBBS from Guy’s, King’s & St Thomas’ School of Medicine, a CCT in Pharmaceutical Medicine, and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine.
