Consultation document:
Guidance for Partnership Working between NHS organisations, primary care contractors, the pharmaceutical industry and the wider commercial sector.

The NHS-Industry Forum (NHSIF) was asked by the All-Wales Medicines Strategy Group (AWMSG) to develop a guidance document on partnership working to promote clarity and transparency between the NHS and Industry. The Forum, Chaired by Mr David Morgan (Consultant in Pharmaceutical Public Health, NPHS, North Wales Region), has consulted within AWMSG, its sub-groups and constituent bodies. The enclosed document is now being distributed for wider consultation. Following the consultation, it is intended that the document, revised appropriately, will be distributed to NHS organisations in Wales as a Welsh Health Circular.

The NHSIF have produced a single document dealing with both code of conduct matters and partnership arrangements and would like this information to be as relevant as possible in the wide range of situations facing colleagues. Your views are therefore very important. I would be grateful if you could forward your comments to the Welsh Medicines Partnership at the address below along with any existing examples you have of partnership working
(see annex 2) by Friday, 14th May 2004.
