Alison Clough becomes Commercial and
Communications Director at ABPI |
Friday, 08 January, 2010
Alison Clough has been promoted to become Commercial and Communications Director at
the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI).
In her new role, Alison will be responsible for both the commercial and communications
functions at the ABPI, and for co-ordinating the work of the ABPI’s four work streams around
Value, Innovation, Trust and Access (VITA).
Richard Barker, Director General said: “This move will help to ensure greater synergy across
the imperatives and ensure there is coherent communication of the very real progress we are
making.”
“A great deal of effort has gone into the VITA work streams since they were started last year
and a huge amount has been achieved, from the Prime Minister’s summit to the Office for Life
Sciences Blueprint to the Patent Box & the Innovation Pass.
“Part of this new role will be to ensure all of our different stakeholders, especially our
members, are aware of the number of things we are doing on behalf of industry.”
Alison moves into the new role following the departure of David Lewis, Director of Corporate
Affairs, and David Fisher, Commercial Director, from the ABPI last month.
Alison joined the ABPI in May from Innovex where she held a series of top management
roles, including running their UK business. Before Innovex, she had a variety of roles during
15 years at GlaxoSmithKline. Alison, a pharmacist by training, officially took up her new role
on January 4.
