David Lewis has been appointed as the new Director of Corporate Affairs for the Association of the British
Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI), replacing Ben Hayes who left the organisation in February after 15 years.
Mr Lewis joins from Britvic where his responsibilities have included delivering strategic, multi-stakeholder
communications and investor relations for a successful flotation on the London Stock Exchange. Before this he
held similar roles within Unilever, BAE Systems and the Finance & Leasing Association. David came to public
affairs with a background in journalism including stints as news reporter on The Sun, home affairs correspondent
at the Guardian and chief news editor on the Northamptonshire Evening Telegraph.
ABPI Director General, Dr Richard Barker said: "We are delighted to welcome David Lewis to the association. He
is a seasoned professional whose experience across a wide range of challenging sectors will bring fresh perspective
upon the issues and challenges faced by the pharmaceutical industry.
“His remit will be to build on the increasingly positive reputation of the industry with public and politicians, as well
as to ensure that our point of view is well-reflected in the media."
