Applications are being sought from pharmacists across the UK for the 2006 ABPI
Pharmacy Awards, the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI)
announced today.
This is the second year that the awards have been held, and
they will be given to up to six pharmacists from England, Scotland
and Wales who have shown:
- Innovative practice that has improved the use of medicines.
- Significant
improvements in the quality of prescribing, dispensing or administration
of medicines.
- Service developments that ensure patient access to high quality
care and medicines.
“The
inaugural ABPI Pharmacy Awards, earlier this year, were a great success,” said
Martin Anderson, Director of Commercial Affairs at the ABPI. “The quality
of the applications received was reflected in the excellent work of the
winners, who presented their work at a meeting at this year’s British Pharmaceutical
Conference.”
The awards take the form of sponsored attendance at the British
Pharmaceutical Conference in 2006. They will be judged by a panel of
senior NHS professionals and the ABPI, with the winners being announced
in June. Applications can be received from any practising pharmacist.
Application
forms can be obtained from the ABPI, 12 Whitehall, London, SW1A
2DY, or via the website, www.abpi.org.uk. Details of last year’s
winning entries can also be found on the ABPI website. |
