Pharmaceutical Ophthalmology Initiative (POPI)

The ABPI Pharmaceutical Ophthalmology Initiative (POPI) is formed of ABPI member companies with an interest in eye health. The group allows members to work together on some of the overarching issues affecting eye care services in England.

Its objective is to collaborate with others to raise the standard of eye care and deliver the best possible outcomes for patients across the UK, which includes access to treatments and the appropriate funding of services, research and innovation.

As its first project, the group has researched and prepared a report, 'Better vision for all'. This includes a number of reform-focused recommendations intended to chart a realistic way forward for eye health services at a time of great change and opportunity. The report was informed by the extensive amount of research that had been conducted previously by others in the eye health sector; and a programme of in-depth interviews with key stakeholders.

A full version of the report is available for download here. Please contact the ABPI POPI secretariat for visually accessible copies of 'Better vision for all' (email: abpi_popi@jmcinform.com, tel: 020 7178 7572).
