Delivered by a wide range of speakers from parliament, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and the Department of Health (DH), the day will start by looking at the role of select committees and the legislative process plus parliamentary questions, early day motions and private members bills.
Next on the agenda is an in-depth examination of how MPs and the House of Lords work and how to capture their interest. After lunch we will hear from a key political editor about the performance of the Coalition and Opposition and then move on to see how policy is made in BIS and DH. We’ll finish by looking at the industry’s key lobbying issues through the ABPI’s government agenda.
The seminar is suitable for those responsible for contact with government and policy makers and those wanting to learn more about government affairs and the policy making process. The event is less suitable for experienced government affairs professionals.
