    ABPI Cymru Wales event - ‘New Contracts in Wales’

Following negotiations between the General Practitioners Committee (GPC) and NHS Employers (on behalf of the four health departments), agreement with the English, Scottish and Welsh departments on changes to the General Medical Services contract for 2011-12 has been reached.

 

​The agreement relates to the following areas of the contract:

  • Practice Expenses
  • The Extended Hours DES in England
  • Certain QOF points, indicators and thresholds
  • Clinical DESs
  • A new Patient Participation DES in England
  • New Quality and Productivity Indicators in the QOF

Dr David Bailey, Chair of GPC Wales will outline the changes – and what impact they may have on the pharmaceutical industry and the way we do business in Wales.

During the same session, a representative from Community Pharmacy Wales will also brief participants on changes to the Pharmacy Contract – and how changes made in England may, or may not, affect practice in Wales.

We are levying a small charge of £50.00 + vat for ABPI members and £100.00 + vat for non-members.
