New ABPI Chief Executive Stephen Whitehead gave his first speech last night at the ABPI Parliamentary Conference, in Portcullis House, hosted by Health Select Committee chair Stephen Dorrell MP.

 

Stephen Whitehead, who only took up his new position last week, said he was excited about returning to the world of pharmaceuticals because he believed passionately in what the industry represented – better healthcare for patients, highly-skilled jobs to boost employment, and growth potential for the UK economy.

Health Secretary Andrew Lansley MP also recognised the contribution the industry makes to healthcare and the economy, pledging a better appreciation of value and continuous support for innovation.​
