| Membership of the ABPI
A) Membership is open to organisations that:
- Supply prescriptions medicines for human use
- Conduct business in the United Kingdom
- Manufacture medicines for human use or hold marketing authorisations for such products
Or Companies that:
Are engaged in research and/or development on their own account in the United Kingdom with a view to marketing or licensing to other parties, of medicines for human use or pharmaceutical materials intended for their preparation.
Membership is open to organisations who have an interest in pharmaceutical products or materials which is not otherwise eligible, if in the opinion of the Board of Management it is in the interests of the Association so to do.
B) Affiliate Membership
There are 2 classes of affiliate membership:
a) Research Affiliates
b) General Affiliates
Research Affiliates: are defined as being engaged in the research and development of medicines for human use that have no sales of such products who are carry out their business in the United Kingdom
General Affiliates: are defined as those companies who are not eligible for any other class of membership, but who have a legitimate interest in the wellbeing of the pharmaceutical industry in the United Kingdom and who conduct their business in the United Kingdom.
