The ABPI has announced the appointment of Amanda Callaghan as Director of Corporate Communications at the organisation, with effect from 31 January 2011.
Amanda will be responsible for supporting the ABPI Board, Director General and Senior Leadership Team in all aspects of communications. She will report directly to the Director General and will be a member of the ABPI Senior Leadership Team. The ABPI Communications and Government Affairs teams will report in to Amanda.
As the current Director of Communications at the Royal College of Nursing (RCN), Amanda leads government, stakeholder and media relations as well as digital and internal communications. She has been responsible for developing and leading the communications strategy and campaigning for the RCN, and also had great success in partnership activities with stakeholder organisations, the Department of Health, Ministers, the media and the membership.

Amanda first joined the RCN in 2001 as Senior Parliamentary Officer, became Head of Communications in 2004 and subsequently joined the Executive Team in 2007 as Director of Communications.
