Seven companies are the latest to become one of the categories of ABPI membership, the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) has announced. They join four other companies that have become part of the trade association that represents the UK-based pharmaceutical industry since the start of the year.
“It is a pleasure to welcome such a professional and diverse range of new members to the ABPI,” said Jeremy Way, Head of Membership Service at the ABPI. “I am sure all the new members will bring professionalism and expertise to the association to help us to support the activities of the industry in the UK.”
The new members that have joined the ABPI this year include:
Daiichi Sankyo, with its UK headquarters at Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, has been created following the merger of two formerly separate companies. It is working on the development of new therapies in cardiovascular disease, cancer, metabolic disorders and infection.
Aptuit (Edinburgh) Ltd, a contract drug development company supplying a comprehensive list of services to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, including preclinical testing, pharmaceutical and analytical testing, clinical packaging and logistics.
ICON plc, of Leopardstown, Dublin, is a global supplier of clinical development services to the pharmaceutical industry, from compound selection to Phase I-IV clinical studies.
Ineos Healthcare Ltd, of Warrington, Cheshire, specialises in drug development in the renal and gastro-intestinal tract therapy areas.
Activity Benchmarking Ltd, of Ruislip, Middlesex, undertakes benchmarking exercises for pharmaceutical companies in the market research area.
Excel Communications (HRD) Ltd, of Marlow, Buckinghamshire, provides training and development workshops to the pharmaceutical sector. Its new service, the Excel Academy, focuses on skills development workshops and one-to-one coaching for medical professionals to enable companies to support opinion leader/advocacy programmes.
Fforde Management Ltd, of Hove, Sussex, provides recruitment and associated services to the industry.
FocusVision Europe Ltd, of Tunbridge Wells, Kent, specialises in the delivery of video transmissions and recording of focus groups.
GFK HealthCare Ltd, of London SE1, interacts with pharmaceutical, biotech and other healthcare companies in the field of market research studies.
PHARMA360º, of Bermondsey, London, specialises in the delivery of pharmaceutical and healthcare meetings.
Red Monday Ltd, of Edinburgh, specialises in the development of software to large organisations in the public and private sector.
