​The 2003 edition of the Patient Group Press Directory has been updated, expanded and improved over last year's inaugural publication.

"Patient groups are powerful advocates for providing patient-centred health services, and we are delighted to help ensure their voice is heard by the public through the media," said Ben Hayes, Director of Public Affairs at the ABPI.

The directory lists, in alphabetical order, patient groups that work UK-wide and - in a separate section - in Scotland. There is also a section on groups working at European level, as well as a listing of 'umbrella' groups that bring together a number of associations with common aims.

The directory gives a short summary of each patient group's main areas of activity so that journalists can easily identify those active in particular fields of interest.
