This year's conference is on 'Securing a future for innovative medicines' and is taking place on Thursday 10 April at the Westminster Bridge Park Plaza, London.
The UK has one of the poorest records on the adoption and diffusion of innovation within our healthcare system. This has a significant impact on patient outcomes and the very sustainability of the system that the nation treasures. Combined with the slow adoption the UK also has one of the most effective genericisation markets, this is overlaid by a crisis in public spending driven by Government deficits. This challenge is reflected in the latest PPRS that aims to transform the UK landscape on the adoption and diffusion of much needed innovation.
At the same time we see the medicines development paradigm shifting. The commercial world along with the research and development environments will inevitably come together as we move towards more pre-competitive collaboration, a more pragmatic approach to clinical development of medicines and regulators/ HTA bodies working closer together on the evaluation and appraisal of medicines. In addition, the NHS is moving towards an era of greater transparency, a wider use of real world data and a keen focus on improved outcomes for patients.
In this new and evolving world our annual conference will take a look at how we can secure a future for innovative medicines here in the UK and what in particular this will mean for the patient. Our expert speakers and panellists will share their insights in to how they see the drug development world changing and how industry and the NHS must respond.
This conference is a must for anyone operating in the UK commercial environment and suitable for any member of the industry from senior managers, market access, communications, commercial and account management.
