Paul Catchpole is Director of Value and Access at the ABPI and his work includes the value and evaluation of medicines, pricing and reimbursement, health technology assessment, the cancer drugs fund, value based pricing, biosimilars and medicines market access.
Paul has worked in the healthcare, local government and pharmaceutical sectors for 30 years. He began his career as a researcher and then held a number of NHS management posts before working on a wide range of UK and international management consultancy assignments at PriceWaterhouseCoopers. After moving to Roche Pharmaceuticals he led one of the largest teams in industry working on national reimbursement of medicines, health economics, strategic pricing, strategic funding and capacity and market access.
He has a PhD in healthcare information systems design methodologies and is a member of the British Computer Society; a chartered information technology professional; member of the Institute of Healthcare Management and is a London fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.
