We currently have two vacancies:

R&D Policy Officer (maternity cover, part-time)

Reporting to the Head of Research and Development (R&D), the role will be to support the Medical and Innovation Team in pursuing ABPI objectives to enhance UK competitiveness on science, technology and R&D.

The Policy Officer will:

  • be responsible for and provide the secretariat and support functions for the Pharmaceutical Industry Security Forum (PISF) (tasks available on request – 25% time)
  • be responsible for and provide the secretariat and support functions for the ABPI Cancer Working Group (tasks available on request – 50% time)
  • contribute to R&D policy activities in the Medical and Innovation Team (25% of time).

The person

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an interest or understanding of science and technology in the pharmaceutical/health sector. Direct experience of the pharmaceutical industry and R&D is not essential, but would be helpful. Educated to a postgraduate level or equivalent, the ideal candidate will have good organisation and communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and effectively. 

This role will be a part-time (four days per week), 11-month fixed-term appointment.

Regional Partnership Manager

This is an exciting and interactive role that will help shape the market access and uptake environment for industry. 

This role will be the regional face of industry and position industry as a partner to the NHS and an integral part of the solution. Responsibilities include:

  • shaping and improving the regional environment for industry, to enable rapid access and uptake of innovative medicines
  • identification and removal of regional industry barriers; and
  • developing and establishing strong, sustainable relationships with key regional NHS market access stakeholders and member companies

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for someone with pharmaceutical  sales/marketing experience and market access/NHS liaison/healthcare development experience. Educated to degree level or equivalent, the ideal candidate must be able to achieve results through collaboration, with excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships and influence stakeholders.
