The ABPI Exam is taken by people wishing to work as medical sales representatives.
It is a requirement of the Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority that the Exam is sat during the first year of employment. In theory a person can be employed as a medical sales representative without having previously passed the ABPI Exam. However, passing the Exam in advance of applying for jobs is a distinct advantage as the job market is very competitive at present.
