    Getting the relationship right

    Reading Andrew Jack's article in today's FT I am struck by two things. The relationship between industry and the medical profession can only be addressed by both parties working together; and the UK industry, through changes in industry behaviours now reinforced by the ABPI Code of Practice and its focus on trust as a partner in the healthcare system, has made significant progress in evolving this relationship.     A new approach to collaboration

    At the Physician and the Pharmaceutical Industry conference hosted by the RCP in February I was encouraged by how much talk there was about collaboration between industry and the health service. Speaker after speaker, from journal editor to academic, clinician and industry representative, held partnership as central to the survival of research and development, clinical trials and healthcare delivery in the UK.
